Racine Correctional Institution Visits
RCI uses DOC prison visiting procedures, not Racine County Jail Sunday non-contact rules. The RCI visitation memo says the institution moved to ICSolutions for in-person and video visits effective February 12, 2024. Visits must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Each video visit is 25 minutes, and in-person visits are 2.5 hours. The memo also says one 25-minute video visit per week is free, while additional video visits cost $2.50.

Racine Correctional Institution Intake

Racine Correctional Institution Programs
RCI's FY25 fact sheet lists a wide program mix: Anger Management, BIG STEP HSED, Domestic Violence, Windows to Work, Earned Release Program, DWD Job Lab, Pre-Release Services, Sex Offender Treatment, Culinary Arts, Custodial Services, Thinking for a Change, EPP college courses, and CNC. These programs should not be confused with Racine County Jail's in-house AODA, Huber, and Jail2Jobs references. The operators, eligibility rules, and records systems differ.
RCI's local history is also specific. The institution includes part of the former St. Bonaventure Prep School. The school began in Pulaski in 1901, moved to Sturtevant in 1921, closed in 1983, and the medium-security prison was dedicated on the site in April 1991.
That history also helps explain why Racine Correctional Institution has its own facility page and lookup path. A Racine County court case may start with a jail booking in downtown Racine, but a sentence to state prison moves the person into DOC records.
