Racine County Jail Roster Overview
The official Racine County jail roster is the Racine County Inmate Locator. It is linked from the Sheriff's Office Jail Division page and is identified in the page metadata as a ProPhoenix Corporation inmate locator. The public form welcomes users to the Racine County Inmate Search and displays a Search Tools panel. There is no public login prompt or fee shown in the captured page.
The roster covers current local jail custody, not every person with a Racine County criminal case. Use it for people booked into Racine County Jail, then use WCCA for the court record after charges are filed. If a person has moved into state prison custody, the Wisconsin DOC locator is the right tool. Federal custody, immigration custody, and victim notification each have their own systems.
The official Racine County Inmate Locator source page shows the search fields used for jail inmate records.
The form image is useful because it shows the exact county roster inputs: last name, first name, gender, and birth year.
Use the Racine County Inmate Roster
A careful jail roster search starts broad. Entering a last name first can catch records where spelling, first name, or birth year is uncertain. The portal also includes language controls for English, Espanol, Francais, and Deutsch, with a hidden Google translate panel in the static page. Search results are hidden until the search runs, and a selected row opens the detail profile.
- Open the official Racine County Inmate Locator from the Jail Division quick link or the roster URL.
- Enter the last name. Add first name only if the result list is too broad.
- Use gender or DOB year to narrow common names when those facts are known.
- Select the matching result and review the detail profile for custody date, cell location, bail, court date, charges, and holds.
- Copy any case number or court branch, then check WCCA for formal court records after the arrest.
Call Racine County Jail at 262-636-3929 when the online roster does not answer a current custody question. Use the Records Bureau at 262-636-3229 or the sheriff open-records page for booking records, incident reports, photographs, videos, or older material not shown online.
Racine County Roster Search Fields
The search form has a small set of public inputs. The static page did not publish a required-field statement, wildcard instruction, or minimum character rule for the jail roster. Clear and Search buttons are present, and the result grid is initially hidden until a search is submitted.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Unspecified | Best first field for a broad search. |
| First Name | Text | Unspecified | Narrows results when the full name is known. |
| Gender | Dropdown | Optional or unspecified | Unknown, Male, or Female. |
| DOB (yyyy) | Text | Unspecified | Year-only birth date field. |
Racine County Inmate Profile Fields
The public profile is more than a name match. It can connect the custody record to charges, bail, holds, and court branch information. The hidden WCCA value found in the profile points to Racine County court details with county number 51, which supports checking the court case after reading the jail record.

Find Racine County Custody Type
Each public locator covers a different slice of custody. The Racine County roster is for the sheriff's local jail. The Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator is for a person in DOC care housed in a DOC facility. BOP is for federal sentenced prisoners, and ICE ODLS is for current ICE detainees or some CBP custody over 48 hours. VINELink can be used for custody status and notification searches where available.
This distinction matters because a person can leave the county jail record path without leaving custody. A sentenced person may move from Racine County Jail to a DOC institution, a federal prisoner may appear only in BOP records, and an immigration detainee may require ICE ODLS. A local court case can also remain visible in WCCA after jail custody ends, so custody status and court status should be checked as separate facts.
| Custody | Where to Look | Important Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or county sentence | Racine County Inmate Locator | Current jail custody only. |
| Sentenced state prison | Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator | DOC states city and county jails are separate. |
| Federal sentenced prisoner | BOP Inmate Locator | No BOP facility is located in Racine County. |
| Immigration custody | ICE ODLS | No ICE detention facility in Racine County was located. |
| Custody notification | VINELink | Notification tool, not a complete case record. |
App note: No official Racine County sheriff app with an inmate roster was located. The P3 Tips app path is for anonymous Crime Stoppers tips, not jail records.
Racine County Inmate Facilities

Racine County Booking Records
Racine County's booking process is documented through several official pages. During intake or admissions, money a detainee has is placed into an inmate trust account overseen under Wis. Stat. 303.08(3). The trust account can be used for commissary, medical fees, Huber fees, and authorized disbursements. Jail healthcare sources state that medical, dental, and psychological care are provided by contracted licensed professionals, with nursing staff on site 24 hours a day.
After arrest, a person is transported to Racine County Jail, identity and custody data are created, money and property are processed, medical needs are routed, classification affects housing and visits, and the ProPhoenix roster may show custody data. Court date and court branch information may appear in the roster profile. Formal case records appear in WCCA once court staff enter the case.
Racine County Jail Visitation
Racine County Jail allows Sunday non-contact behind-glass visits for minimum inmates, AODA, Huber, community service workers, and inmate workers at times tied to security level or housing unit. Each minimum inmate gets one 20-minute visit per week. Jail staff do not give visitors the visitation time; the inmate must tell visitors the registration time. Visitors must be at least 18 or with an adult, sober, and have photo ID.

Video visits are available through Securus for inmates who are not in listed non-contact floors and are not on discipline. Scheduling can be done online or at the Main Street Professional Entrance lobby computer from 8:00-11:00 AM, 1:00-4:30 PM, and 6:00-9:00 PM. Video visits are 20 minutes and may be monitored or ended for rule violations.
Racine County Records Requests
The Records Bureau is the fallback for booking records, incident reports, supplemental reports, photographs, and videos not available online. The sheriff open-records page lists reports and supplemental documents at $0.25 per page. Photographs and videos are sent electronically by email when released. Body-camera requests have an estimated completion schedule of 6 to 8 months from the request date.
Records requests are also the route for historical jail material when a released person no longer appears in the public roster. The sheriff page states that requests are handled as soon as practicable and without delay, but timing can depend on request volume, the amount of material, review needs, redaction, and release limits under Wisconsin or federal law.
Prepayment may be required for larger requests. Requests for 911 dispatch tapes, radio communications, or dispatch call logs must go to the Communications Center through the county's linked request page. Discovery for Racine County Circuit Court criminal cases goes to the District Attorney's Office, not the sheriff open-records form.
Racine County Mail and Funds
Regular mail is subject to inspection, and legal mail is opened in the inmate's presence by jail supervision. Incoming mail is removed from the envelope and the envelope is discarded. General mail over five pages goes to secure property unless a written waiver is requested five business days ahead and approved. Mail should include the inmate name, SPN number, housing unit, Racine County Jail, and 717 Wisconsin Avenue, Racine, WI 53403.
